Bryan is a Partner at Westbury (ICFG USA) and has over 40 years of entrepreneurial, operating and investment banking experience. He is a Partner of the Westbury Group, a U.S. investment banking boutique specializing in M&A and corporate finance. The firm specializes in providing advice to middle market and entrepreneurial growth companies. Bryan focuses on a broad range of industries, including aerospace, defense & government services, healthcare technology, environmental services, advanced manufacturing, and automotive technology.
Bryan MacDonald joined Westbury Group as a partner in July 2012.
Just prior to joining Westbury, Mr. MacDonald served as Chief Operating Officer at Highcroft Racing, Inc., a championship winning motorsports company, which operated the Le Mans Prototype Development race program for American Honda under the Acura Brand. While at Highcroft, the company won two American Le Mans Series (ALMS) championships and became one of the leading motorsports development companies in the U.S. The ALMS was the only “green” racing series in the world endorsed by the U.S. Department of Energy, as well the EPA and has pioneered the use of alternative fuels, advanced hybrid systems and the other “green” automotive technology. As Highcroft’s Chief Operating Officer, Mr. MacDonald ran the company’s day-to-day operations and guided the development of advanced automotive systems. He also initiated and developed an advanced technology R&D relationship with General Electric Global Research, one of the leading industrial laboratories in the world. During his tenure at Highcroft, he developed close relationships with senior & C-suite executives at numerous automotive companies around the world including American Honda, Audi, General Motors, Ford, Porsche, Mazda, AMG-Mercedes, Volkswagen, Michelin, and the new electric vehicle company Rivian.
Prior to his experience at Highcroft Racing, Mr. MacDonald founded one of the first independent placement agent boutiques in 1993, Investment Strategies International. Based in Westport, Connecticut, the firm specialized in raising capital for private equity, mezzanine, real estate, and hedge funds, and as the firm grew, expanded into corporate finance. At ISI, Mr. MacDonald helped organize and fund several prominent private investment funds, including the first two long/short global technology hedge funds in the world, serving on the Board of Directors for one of the funds for 18 years. Mr. MacDonald sold ISI in 2000 to Benedetto, Gartland & Company, Inc., where he served as a Senior Partner and Chief Operating Officer until 2008. Benedetto Gartland was a leading independent investment bank, specializing in raising private equity funds, as well as M&A and corporate finance. During his tenure at Benedetto, Gartland, Mr. MacDonald represented numerous private equity firms, He also worked on numerous M&A advisory and corporate finance assignments. Early in his career, Bryan worked in senior positions at several prominent financial institutions, including The Vanguard Group, Frank Russell Company, and Bankers Trust.
Mr. MacDonald hold Series 7, 24, 79 and 63 FINRA licenses. He is a graduate of Connecticut College and holds a B.A in both Government & Economics. He resides in Wilton, CT with his family and actively enjoys the outdoors, is an avid musician and is actively involved in his Church and local community.
