Ron has over 30 years experience as an advisor and principal in M&A, capital raising and restructuring transactions, as well as providing valuation and strategic advisory services to private and public companies across multiple industry sectors. He has highly developed analytical, due diligence and transaction structuring skills, as well as the perspectives gained from working on transactions as an investment banking intermediary, a principal investor and company board member.
Experience
Ron began his career at J.P. Morgan where he spent 18 years, initially as a banker following the energy and utilities sectors for 6 years, followed by 12 years at Morgan’s investment management division, where he was a portfolio manager for two special situation investment funds, each with over $1 billion in AUM. There Ron had primary responsibility for managing direct private investment activities, including deal sourcing, investment selection, research and diligence, transaction structuring and documentation, portfolio management, certain portfolio company board positions and effecting investment exits.
Before joining Westbury, Ron was also a Partner at Capital Crossover Partners, a long-short hedge fund and a Managing Director at Friedman, Billings, Ramsey Group, where he co-managed a private equity fund focused on the financial services sector.
Ron received a BA and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of North Carolina. He earned an MBA from New York University’s Executive Program where he was elected class President. He holds Series 3, 7, 24 and 63 FINRA licenses and is based in Connecticut.
