Transaction Description

The Mecanindus-Vogelsang Group is in its niche the largest manufacturer of certain fasteners in Europe and generated revenues of EUR 43 million in 2005. The German private equity investor Finatem (Frankfurt) took over 75 % of the shares. The management and the former owners are involved with 25 % and accompany the firm on its growth course.

Mecanindus was created 1920 by the Levesque family in the French Méré and is one of the prominent manufacturers of spring pins in France. In 2003 the Jörg Vogelsang Umformtechnik in Hagen/Germany was acquired of Mecanindus. Both companies were already connected since 1999 by a joint venture in Czechia.

"Mecanindus-Vogelsang will use its good market position and innovation power, in order to open up new markets. Therefore the company will expand the selling activities in the promising European, Asian and American markets. I am pleased particularly about the fact that we have been given the opportunity to support the management and the co-shareholder in this process", described Eric Jungblut, Finatem Beteiligungs GmbH. The Group is in the fasteners division market leader for spring pins, spiral pins, clamping chucks and compression limiter. Mecanindus-Vogelsang can be integrated directly into the process chain of its customers by the product variety and fast availability of the products. That applies to standard parts and special parts.

In the tubular products division rolled and bended metal parts are manufactured. These predominantly cylindrical automotive components are the economical alternative to ordinary tubing parts among other things in the automotive chassis technology, anti-vibration systems, shock absorbers and engine. In addition, blanked and stamped metal parts are developed in the metal stamped parts division. Here it concerns parts with complex partial geometry for highest safety requirements in the automobile industry, for the example of belt support systems.
